We install stains that permeate the concrete to infuse it with translucent tones, which vary depending on the surface they are applied to & the application techniques used. The results are everything from polished concrete, natural stone, and stained wood.
Concrete densifiers have been around for decades. They are a concrete hardener that have been used in the flooring industry primarily for concrete floor polishing, increased abrasion resistance, anti-dusting, and moisture mitigation. In some cases it is used to harden softer concrete surfaces before grinding.
Available in both solvent & water-based formulations, acrylic sealers are ideal for projects where easy application and economy are important. They can be used on both interior and exterior surfaces to form a thin, protective layer that provides good protection against water and chloride intrusion...while permitting moisture in the slab to escape.
While many concrete sealers claim to offer protection from water damage, most only offer some degree of water resistance. If you are looking for a true water repellent sealer, for instance, an acrylic will not really give you the protection you have in mind. When applied to the concrete, the water visibly beads before sliding off.
